Of Broken in Voices Magazine/The LPM Voice

So to get on with some great new music Voices Magazine has teamed up with Local Promo Music and we will be putting out a newsletter and have talked about many other things too! So be on the look out for new things but in the meantime........I would like to introduce you all to a band called Of Broken. These guys have the polished sound of any great mainstream artist that you know of. Their sound takes elements of Rock blended with life, love and culture and cooks them into a tasty dish. When I first heard their sound I was very impressed. They have the sound of a band who's been making music for a decade.........they'll be around a long time I suspect. But don't take my word for it, just turn it up!

OF BROKEN'S BIOGRAPHY (provided by band)


A three-year old band from Northwest Maryland, the fellas in Of Broken (also known by the acronym 'OBK') are ready to enter your favorite music list, and they're doing just that on a daily basis. With such a rich musical background collectively, the fellas that make up Of Broken love writing hooks and putting on a visual show ; and it is with these talents Of Broken have managed roughly 200,000 plays and 11,000 friends and fans on their Myspace. And it only took one year.

Jason (vocals/guitar) loves the groove rock of bands like Breaking Benjamin , Chevelle and City Sleeps; constantly honing his ability to write memorable songs that mean something, not just to himself and the band, but everyone. Tim, Heath and newest member "New Jack" Adam (only 20 years young) all have different tastes, as well. Be it Atreyu for Tim, The Used for Heath, and Primus for Adam; all the elements seem to come together very well in their original catalog.

The boys recently made the finals for the coveted DC101 Battle to open the Chili Cook-Off (showcasing mega bands like Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace and Jet) and recently won the Downtown Countdown online voting competition to open this years NYE party thrown by DC101 and Elliott in the Morning playing with legends Naughty by Nature and Pat McGee Band in front of 5,000+. Past successes include Of Broken making the charts (TOP 50) in the American Idol Underground competition and finishing in the TOP 20 out of over 4,000 artists Worldwide! Their addictive sounds and show has earned them the right to share the stage with bands like Papa Roach (Geffen), Jimmies Chicken Shack (Koch), Cinder Road (EMI), City Sleeps (trustKill), Voodoo Blue (Dcide), Lennex (ft. Phil Ritchie from Rockstar:Supernova) , not to mention photographer Jason Messer (Linkin Park, Run DMC) shot their photographs. They've played up and down nearly the entire East Coast and touched the stage at almost every venue in the MD/VA/DC area (including the 9:30 Club, The State Theatre, Rams Head Live!, The Recher Theatre, Fletcher's, ESPN Zone and Hard Rock Cafe). Currently on college radio stations across the nation, Of Broken has also been on several radio and cable shows (98 Rock, DC101, LIVE105.7, X106.9, Adelphia Cable, etc...) and with their recent signing to RAPTURE RECORDS, are STOKED to get out to your town and say hi personally.
